Farewell, adieu, travel well, see you soon...

A true friend never gets in your way unless you're going down. ~ Arnold Glasow. So not good at goodbyes.
So we had a *last meal* on the deck: roast lamb with all the trimmings, cheesecake. The kids abandoned us to hurl water bombs at each other in the front yard & whack the pinata Star had made to bits. Star always does a pinata to celebrate her & Irish Lad Number One's birthday.
A last photo...

And all that's left is an empty table, abandoned chairs & the sort of memories only good friends leave behind.
Two years & counting down.

One day I'm going to be sitting at that beautiful table. What a view!

Saying goodbye leaves an empty feeling. But now you start the anticipation of the next visit.

I don't think those boys could look more Irish!

It is hard saying goodbye to treasured family and friends...

I love the photo of you and your friend!

Obviously, I am way too emotional today. I am in tears for you.

I am not good at goodbyes myself and often break into tears. I'm sensitive and my husband has tried desperately to teach me through the years that this is a gift and not a problem--it is an expression of love. Still very hard to say goodbye to loved ones. I dwell on the happy memories...looks like you made them. :)
How beautiful!

LObstar: I would've saved you some cheesecake, m'dear, but it wouldn't keep. BTW, are you sure you don't need glasses...

Jeanne: Any time...☺ Door's always open for you, kettle's on...

Sandra: & they sound Irish! Not surprising, I know, but at times we practically needed an interpreter!

Amanda: lol She is so tiny! I feel like a heffalump beside her. ☺

Oh Seeking! It's all good. Sharing with you today...☺

Jan Lyn:The best bit is the kids. They are so different & yet every two years they hook up as if they've never been apart & have a great time together. Star is good that way. She is more extroverted, the younger boy is too & Star thinks up heaps of stuff for them to do. Naturally the water bombs originated in her brain & she got the wettest.

Gerry: We are considering a flotilla of frigates just towing the whole blooming island out here. It would solve so many problems! ;P

Tiny? All I noticed were the loving hugs ~ your arms around her.

Sweeeet... Two years seems so long, though.
