Yes, and no. : ) We call that butternut squash. I've had something like the Jap, but not a large. I love zucchini and grow it.
LOL That first pic is plainly a SQUASH. And um, "jumpers" are those little farmer type overalls, did you know that? They're not really sweaters. Are you sure we have a common language? :)
Sandra: I had a feeling we were talking at cross purposes. ☺Mrsc: lol I'm not sure we share anything ~ let alone a language. And a jumper is a sheep, jfyi.☺
Top one = butterNUT squash2nd one = pumpkin, but the wrong colour! LOL3rd one = looks like a butterCUP squash...4th = zucchini, yes. Never seen those little yellow things!I *love* the differences in our 'common' language LOL
surely you mean courgette :o)xc
Hojos: I about fell out of my chair laughing ~ but I don't, you know ☺Moly: Enjoy. The Hojos have now joined this war of words & being English call nothing by it's correct name. ;P
We do not speak "a common language". We all speak different dialects of English.
Call a butternut what you will, but it originated in the Americas around Mexico. So there! :P
Off to research the botanical differences between squash and pumpkins. Personally, I prefer spaghetti squash. Fun to eat and without a strong squash-y (pumpkin-y?) flavor.
