We were always rescuing some poor wild something or other abandoned by it's mother. The local game&wildlife office knew us well...and eventually they started calling us when they needed foster parents for animals because they knew we'd say yes. Over the years we've had baby birds of all kinds (many actually survived), bunnies, groundhogs, oppossom, raccoons, abandoned kittens and puppies, a squirrel or two, and I think once we even had a baby deer. Thankfully our game and wildlife office generally would give us supplies if we needed something strange.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05908763126393633050noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2044945947832003194.post-51719898491810233952009-05-25T19:52:18.346-07:002009-05-25T19:52:18.346-07:00Once, many years ago, my young son brought me a ne...Once, many years ago, my young son brought me a nest of baby mice he'd found and put in a match box. "Mom, can we raise them?" They were pitiful looking, but I'm afraid my answer was a resounding, NO!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2044945947832003194.post-53286431314923276542009-05-25T04:54:29.665-07:002009-05-25T04:54:29.665-07:00ahhhh, ganeida my dear friend, you and i are indee...ahhhh, ganeida my dear friend, you and i are indeed cut of the same cloth♥ my kids have roped me into similar situations more times than i can count... When I was young (it's but a foggy memory) we'd adopt baby rabbits and things we found laying around. I don't think any of them flourished though; there were a few bumps in our pet graveyard. :-(MamaOlivehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12917138266127672566noreply@blogger.com
