However, I liken this to TV. Although most of it is entertaining, having removed it from our lives, I also can see how desensitize we became to being "entertained" by things the Bible warns us against and the more we watched those things, the more it seemed not so bad--then we end up "entertaining" thoughts that are not holy.

Having worked with teens, I do believe it is essential for them to explore how they feel, living out Biblical principles, and what they would/should do in situations without involvement, as a book provides. I am not one to think that the only book that ever should be read is the Bible either, but it is the one with the answers to these situations.

I suppose I would typically say balance again is the key element, but I think that we tend to bring do the balancing on our own scale, which is somewhat weighted in our favor. I guess I am still trying to find God's scale on the subject.seekingmyLordhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03242380845994448311noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2044945947832003194.post-5314001586193389662011-06-19T19:04:38.286-07:002011-06-19T19:04:38.286-07:00Thank you, mam. And I browse the fiction shelves extensively for good fiction. I rarely find really excellent quality on the Christian shelves & why should the devil get all the good literature? Time Christians reclaimed the Arts!

I understand why people don't. They choose safety. In the long run I'm not convinced that's the wisest choice but my reasoning is complicated & not something I am free to share so publically. E~mail me or FB me if you are interested in the extended version of this particular rant. lol

Thank you for your politeness.Ganeidahttp://ganeidasknots.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2044945947832003194.post-39076418794432943202011-06-19T03:56:53.709-07:002011-06-19T03:56:53.709-07:00Interesting. :o) Not sure I'm on board, but ...Interesting. :o) Not sure I'm on board, but definitely interesting to see your views.

I do love how you are able to express thought. :o)Deborahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16370393893728279355noreply@blogger.com
